Music Neighbors - Nashville’s Community for Emerging Artists

Programs

Play It Forward Sessions

Our organization is helping to address the rising costs of living in Nashville along with the increasing costs of recording previously unrecorded music by providing studio time at no cost to the music artists. Many of the artists selected for this program are nominated by our Artist Committee. To be considered for a slot by our committee, JOIN our community for free. New members will be explored on a quarterly basis.

We provide live EP studio recordings and video promo packages to help these artists record new music and acquire content to connect their music to more people in the community. We pick up the tab fully for the artists’ studio time, engineer, video, and crew. We also provide production for the video and audio which is then utilized for the live music videos that we capture and create. Additionally, we provide the original audio stems from the studio recording so they can give them to their normal audio engineer/producer.

We do encourage these artists to donate to our program as well in order to help sustain our efforts and continue to help pay it forward to other artists in the future.

Mix It Up: A Multi-Genre Music Showcase

Music City is the nickname given to Nashville because of the incredible music community and the scene we have. However, it’s all too rare that our communities' live music events reflect several different genres and musical styles that Nashville has to offer in one lineup.

We aim to change this and to provide attendees the opportunity to explore several different styles of music within one artist showcase where we bring together some of the most talented Nashville-based artists from a variety of genres. We want these showcases to be like a mini-music festival where we bring our music communities together to celebrate our scene and connect with one another.

Song Craft Sessions

With this video series, we want to allow viewers to delve into the artistry of the musicians we feature. We focus in on what influences their creative & writing processes, explain the meaning behind their songs, and why music is important to them. This series intertwines live music performances with artists' discussions about their songwriting process in an intimate setting.

Good Neighbors Listen: Conversations Through Music

With this video series, we provide music artists a platform to discuss how they utilize their music to navigate societal issues, and personal struggles, as well as to build a more connected and accepting community.

We feel music has the power to heal and bring to light issues we face as individuals and communities. Many artists use music as a form of therapy and to bring people together to establish stronger communities that encourage equity, inclusivity, and diversity. We believe that giving these artists the space to address these issues is vital to continually improve upon and culturally enrich Nashville and beyond.

Sliding Scale Media Production Services

We provide professional content creation services to artists below fair market value on a sliding scale for our work. We encourage supporters to pay as much as they are able to afford as every dollar we receive is put right back into the nonprofit to help fund our initiatives.
