Our Mission
Founded in 2015 by Chelsea & Jason Garriott, Music Neighbors is an artist-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit music incubator that empowers independent music artists from any genre to create and share new songs with the public. Our programs provide free artist development resources (including free recording sessions) to help musicians professionally level up their artistry, grow their fanbases, and build their careers.
Our staff uses their artistry of filmmaking to help artists create high-quality assets to showcase their songs professionally to their fans, music industry professionals, and media outlets.
We also advocate utilizing the power of music for cultural enrichment, positive mental health, and community connection.
Vision and Core Values
Music Is For Everyone - We believe every musician and music enthusiast should feel welcome within the music industry and be provided the same opportunities and accessibility regardless of their demographic or genre of music. We provide a safe and welcoming space for all people, including music artists and attendees at our live events.
Cultural Exploration and Enrichment - Since music is tied closely with culture, we encourage the public to discover new music, especially from genres they don’t typically listen to. We hope that through music, people will be open to expanding their cultural palette to have a better understanding of all the communities that surround them.
Community Building - We embrace the communal and connective powers of music to bridge together different communities and cultures to create a more connected world. Music helps enrich society by creating more vibrant cultures and communities. We also believe treating others with kindness, respect, and acceptance regardless of their demographic, race, ethnicity, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, and gender is crucial to having stronger communities. Therefore, our programming aims to help reduce discrimination and hate within our communities.
Accessible Professional Creative Services - We provide opportunities to music artists from any background and genre to have access to essential resources and services to aid in sustaining and building their careers. Our programming also helps support the music ecosystem artists need to create, record, and share their music.
Music For Healing - We believe that music has healing and therapeutic properties for mental health, overcoming adversity, and dealing with hardships life and society can bring individuals and communities. We provide a platform for artists to have their voices and stories heard and seek to amplify them to as large of an audience as possible.
